Besides playing a leading role in advancing the value of professional associations, NAIFA had considerable impact on the professionalizing trend that led to the improved quality and status of practitioners in the field. During the 20th century, we saw many trades become respected professions with licensing requirements, courses of study and academically recognized credentials. NALU pioneered this concept, providing the great thrust that led to the establishment of the Chartered Life underwriter (CLU) designation, as well as other education programs.
NAIFA is partnering with the College for Financial Planning to create a new, dynamic and interactive curriculum for NAIFA’s Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) designation. More information
